✦ Terms of Service
The fine print, plainly written
Last updated · 21 May 2026
These Terms govern your use of ExTraP — Exploring Travellers Platform, the travel journal and planning app operated by Cotek App FZ-LLC, a company registered in the United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
We've tried to write this in honest English. The headings are for convenience — the words underneath them are what matter.
1. Who can use ExTraP
You can create an account if you are at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract under the laws of your jurisdiction. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm you have the authority to bind it.
We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts at our discretion — including, but not limited to, accounts that breach these Terms, are used for unlawful purposes, or that we have reasonable grounds to suspect are operated by bots, scrapers, or fraudsters.
2. Your account and security
You are responsible for the credentials you use to access ExTraP and for every activity that occurs on your account. Keep your password private; don't share it. Notify us at support@cotek.live promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
We use industry-standard hashing (bcrypt) for passwords and signed session tokens for sign-in state. We don't store your password in plaintext and we can't recover it — if you forget it, you reset it.
3. Workspaces, members, and roles
ExTraP is organised around workspaces. A workspace can have one or more members in roles of Owner, Admin, Editor, or Viewer. Owners and Admins control membership, billing, and workspace-level settings. Editors can add and change trip data; Viewers see it read-only.
Trips inside a workspace are visible to every member of that workspace according to their role. If you don't want a particular trip to be visible to your entire workspace, use a per-trip invitation (which grants access to one trip only) instead of a workspace-wide invitation.
4. Subscriptions, billing, and the AI assistant
4.1 Plans
We offer four tiers: Wanderer (free), Voyager, Concierge, and the limited-edition Founding Voyager lifetime plan. The features, limits, and prices of each tier are set out on our pricing page and may be updated from time to time. Material changes that affect existing paid subscriptions will be communicated by email before they take effect.
4.2 Payment
Subscriptions are billed through Stripe. By upgrading, you authorise Stripe to charge the payment method you provide for the applicable fees, including taxes where required by law. Recurring plans renew automatically until cancelled. Founding Voyager is a one-time, non-recurring payment.
4.3 Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel a recurring subscription at any time via Settings → Billing → Manage billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then. We don't offer pro-rata refunds for unused time on monthly or annual plans unless required by mandatory consumer law in your jurisdiction. Founding Voyager is non-refundable — it's a one-time purchase explicitly priced as a lifetime arrangement.
4.4 Failed payments and downgrades
If a recurring payment fails, Stripe will retry it according to their standard schedule. If the failure persists, the workspace will be downgraded to the Wanderer tier. Your data is not deleted — you can re-subscribe at any time to restore the previous tier's features.
4.5 The AI assistant
Paid tiers include an AI travel concierge powered by Anthropic's Claude language model. Conversations are sent to Anthropic for processing and may include a summary of your workspace's trip data so the assistant can give grounded suggestions. The assistant can search the public web on your behalf when relevant.
Suggestions from the AI are just suggestions. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, availability, or current pricing of anything the assistant tells you. Verify important information (visa requirements, prices, opening hours, transit schedules, safety conditions) with the relevant authoritative source before you rely on it.
Monthly message quotas apply on Voyager and Founding Voyager; Concierge is unlimited. Quota resets at the start of each billing cycle.
5. Your content
ExTraP stores content you create or upload: trip names, itineraries, expenses, photos, attachments, notes, AI conversation history, and so on (“Your Content”).
You retain all rights you already have in Your Content. By uploading it to ExTraP, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, transmit, and process it for the limited purpose of operating the service for you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to reasonable backup retention.
You promise that:
- You own Your Content or have the rights you need to upload it.
- Your Content doesn't infringe anyone else's rights or break the law.
- Your Content doesn't include payment-card data, government IDs, or other regulated personal information beyond what you need for trip planning.
If a workspace member uploads Your Content, the workspace owner is responsible for that upload to the same extent as if they had uploaded it themselves.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use ExTraP to:
- Break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or facilitate either.
- Send spam, phishing, malware, or any unsolicited communications via our share-link, invite, or AI features.
- Probe, scan, scrape, reverse-engineer, or otherwise interfere with the security or operation of the service.
- Use automated means to create accounts, send AI messages, or otherwise circumvent quotas and rate limits.
- Mislead the AI assistant or use it to harass, defraud, or harm anyone.
- Store or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, sexually exploitative, hateful, or violent.
We reserve the right to remove content or restrict accounts that breach these rules.
7. Third-party services
ExTraP relies on a small set of carefully chosen sub-processors to operate. By using the service you acknowledge that these providers will receive certain information necessary for them to perform their function:
- Vercel — application hosting and serverless functions.
- Vercel Blob — storage for photo and document uploads.
- Neon / Postgres — database hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing and customer portal.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Anthropic — large-language-model inference for the AI assistant.
- Frankfurter — public foreign-exchange rates for expense conversion.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments. See our Privacy Policy for details.
8. Sharing your trips publicly
ExTraP offers two ways to make a trip visible outside your workspace. Both are opt-in and revocable.
8.1 Read-only share links
Generate a private URL anyone can use to view a single trip without an account. Treat the link like the trip itself is public — if you don't want a piece of information out in the world, don't put it on a trip with a share link enabled. You can revoke the link any time from the trip's share page; previously distributed links stop working immediately.
8.2 Publishing to the Journal
You can opt to publish a trip to the public ExTraP Journal — a discovery feed of travel stories indexed by search engines and shareable by URL. Publishing has stronger implications than a share link:
- The trip page (or the parts you choose to expose) appears on extrap.cotek.app/journals and may be crawled and cached by search engines and social platforms.
- Any logged-in ExTraP reader can leave notes (comments) on your journal, save it, or replicate its structure into their own trip.
- You choose the author byline at publish time — workspace name, a custom name, or “Anonymous”.
- You can hide individual reader notes from your journal page, or unpublish the entire trip from the same controls. Unpublishing removes the page from ExTraP immediately, but cached copies on search engines or third-party sites can take days to clear.
Photos, place names, and any text you leave visible when publishing will be accessible to the public. If you wouldn't put it on a postcard, don't publish it.
8.3 Community standards for public content
Anything you publish to the Journal — words, photos, place names, comments left on others' journals — must not contain or depict:
- Nudity, sexually explicit content, or sexually suggestive content involving any person.
- Graphic violence, gore, or content that glorifies harm.
- Hate speech, harassment, or content targeting individuals or groups on protected characteristics.
- Promotion or sale of illegal goods, drugs, weapons, or services.
- Personal information about other people without their consent — including faces in photos, full names, home addresses, phone numbers, or other identifying details.
- Material that infringes third-party intellectual-property rights (photos you didn't take, copyrighted text you didn't write, branded logos used commercially).
Any user can report a published journal note via the flag icon next to the note. Reports go to support@cotek.live for human review. We can remove content or restrict accounts that breach these standards without prior notice and without refund.
9. Intellectual property
The ExTraP application, brand, design, and underlying software are owned by Cotek App FZ-LLC. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for its intended purpose in accordance with these Terms. You don't get any other rights — no implied trademark licences, no resale rights, no permission to clone the UI.
10. Beta features
We sometimes release features in beta. Beta features are offered “as is”, may change without notice, and may be removed at our discretion. Don't rely on them for anything mission-critical.
11. Termination
You can close your account any time. You can also remove individual workspaces; doing so deletes the workspace and the trips inside it. We keep limited backups for up to 30 days for disaster recovery, after which data is permanently deleted from primary and backup systems.
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if you materially breach these Terms, place the service or another user at risk, or if we are required to do so by law. Where practicable we will give you a heads-up and an opportunity to cure.
12. Disclaimers
ExTraP is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure; that AI suggestions will be accurate; or that data you store will be available indefinitely.
Travel involves real-world risks we can't control — weather, politics, transit disruptions, visa policy, illness, currency fluctuations. We are a planning tool, not a travel agency, insurer, or tour operator. Decisions you make on the basis of information in the app are your own.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither we nor our affiliates, officers, employees, or contractors will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of ExTraP — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US$50.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cotek App FZ-LLC and its personnel from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: (a) Your Content; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your violation of any law or third-party right; or (d) your use of the service in a way these Terms don't permit.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, give you at least 14 days' advance notice by email or an in-app banner. Continued use of the service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you don't agree to a material change, your remedy is to stop using the service and, if applicable, cancel your subscription.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the applicable free-zone regulations of the jurisdiction in which Cotek App FZ-LLC is registered, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The competent courts of that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that cannot be resolved informally, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under your local law.
Before filing anything, please email us at support@cotek.live. We're generally happy to sort things out without lawyers.
17. Miscellaneous
- If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- You can't assign these Terms. We can, in connection with a corporate transaction.
- These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy) are the complete agreement between you and us about ExTraP.
